OUR HISTORY

Cascade Chorus began with a simple idea: bring people together through music.

After a three-year pause from the previous community choir, singers from the Agassiz-Harrison communities reunited for the 53rd Annual Carol Festival and it quickly became clear just how much they had missed the connection, joy, and energy that comes from making music together.

Inspired by that experience, Cascade Chorus was officially formed in February 2023 as a welcoming, non-audition community choir open to all ages and abilities. Even though we launched mid-season, our very first concert in June played to a full and enthusiastic audience. The music reflected our mission - celebrating why we sing, and the joy it brings - and both singers and concertgoers were humming the tunes for weeks after. One audience member even said, “I wasn’t expecting you to sound SO good!”

With 25 members aged 16 to 90 in our first season, we’re proud to be a truly multi-generational group. As we grow in numbers and musical confidence, we’re excited to keep building community through song and participating in local events throughout the community.
