We are off to a good start with our new Canadian theme for our winter/spring session! It was good to see all of you again after a month off, and so exciting to see new members join us!
Although we are waiting for 1 or 2 more pieces to arrive from the music store, most of this session's music will be passed out next week. The rest of the practice tracks and performance links will be posted then, too. Remember to bring a pencil (the only way for marking your music) and some looseleaf/extra paper for taking notes.
Here are some performance videos:
Skidegate Love Song
Northwest Passage
(local Vancouver choir with an amazing conductor and award-winning choir(s): https://youtu.be/YtZetHPFxJk?si=AMBOaon8t7H6gROZ
NOTE: I think this last one is the only one that is following the arrangement that we are singing - so don't get too used to the rhythms of any of these!
Here are practice tracks for these 3 songs:

O Canada:
Skidegate Love Song:
(You may want to take a photo of the phonetic pronunciation I put on the white board, to help you when you get the music next week.
Please look ahead on your calendars regarding the possibility of performances in both Agassiz and Harrison on Canada Day/July 1st. I will be asking again at the beginning of March.
Just a reminder that it is our choir's policy to encourage attendance to at least 75% of rehearsals (13 of the 17 rehearsals). It is essential that you attend the last 4 rehearsals before the concert. Remember to let the section leader know if you are not able to attend a rehearsal. Home practice is important so you are "on track".
Enjoy the sunny weather, and see you next week!
Brenda
